Today we took a day trip to the village of SuZhou. By bullet train it was about 30 minutes outside of Shanghai. They call it a village because it was started as a fishing village in about 600BC, but today there are 6 million people there. Village, ha! It was cool, though. We saw a traditional Chinese "garden." Gardens are family estates, very cool. Then we took a boat trip down one of the canals and went to see the Tiger Hill Pagoda. The pagoda is an about 1000 year old Buddhist temple that is leaning more than then Leaning Tower of Piza. They say that an emperor's tomb is under the foundation of the pagoda and as it has decayed the foundation shifted. Pretty cool. Fun day.

Pictures are GREAT! Is it just luck, or are the skies much clearer now that you are away from Beijing? Have you been eating "Chinese" style or looking for McDonalds? Love the "local color" info.
