We went out exploring Shanghai on our own today. We started in the People's Park where we got asked to go to a "tea party." It is basically a scam that leaves you with a very large bill to pay at some tea house if you fall for it. And a long running joke this whole trip. Then we ventured down Nanjing Rd which is a large pedestrian shopping road. In reality it was ten times more peddlers then I ever saw in Beijing and they were not as polite either...egh. We walked all the way down to the Bund where we found this sightseeing tunnel to take us under the river over to the Pudong side of the river. The sightseeing tunnel was this crazy subway like tunnel with lots of neon lights and a narration (where the English translation didn't make a damn bit of sense). Too funny. From there we decided to go up to the top of the Pearl Tower...turns out that there is a bunch of space museum type stuff along the way up, restaurants, shops and even a roller coaster!
